This achievement specifically reflects the carbon footprint of Konecta in Spain, distinguishing it from the group’s global data. The measurement, carried out in line with the international GHG Protocol standard, used 2022 as the baseline year. Emissions reduction plan: targets exceeded ahead of schedule

Konecta in Spain has been measuring its carbon footprint since 2010 and, in recent years, has stepped up its strategy to stay ahead of future regulatory requirements. Its 2023-2026 reduction plan, which aimed to cut emissions by 45% compared to 2022 levels, achieved this goal in just one year.Among the initiatives implemented:

  • Use of electricity with a Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (GdO)
  • Upgrading of air conditioning and efficient lighting systems
  • Adoption of more sustainable electric vehicles
  • Installation of electric vehicle charging stations
  • Deployment of self-consumption photovoltaic plants
  • Integration of LED lighting in 91% of new facilities

In line with new regulations, the government in Spain has approved a Royal Decree regulating the official carbon footprint registry, which now includes over 14,250 registered footprints. Konecta’s footprint in Spain is among them, reinforcing the company’s commitment to transparency and corporate climate action.
Konecta is committed to continuing its efforts to achieve net zero emissions in the coming years.
